$2.19 A Gallon

I want to start off by saying thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday yesterday. I really appreciate it. I had a great birthday. We went over to my parent’s house yesterday afternoon. My dad grilled and my mom baked me a cake. Everything was so delicious. I would have taken a picture but everything looked and smelled so good. I couldn’t wait to eat it, lol. My mom and my sister haven’t had the chance to get me a birthday present yet. They said I should get it next week. My dad got me a birthday card and some money. Bryan got me the Sims game I’ve been wanting. Even before it was released. He also got me the cutest card. I guess I could have taken a video of it and posted it on Flickr. I may do that later.

We pretty much lounged around all day. I took my laptop over there of course. It always comes with me when we visit them. I did what I need to do on that so we decided to watch a movie. Somehow my dad got his hands on a boot leg version of Hancock. But, before we could find that movie I asked my dad and Bryan to help me go through my boxes that were stored in the shed behind their house. I’ve been needing to find my diploma but I just kept forgetting. I couldn’t forget this time since it’s possible I will need it this Tuesday. Anyways, we went through every single box and couldn’t find it. By that time, I was freaking out. What I did next was what I should have done in the first place.

I went inside and asked my mom if somehow she had gotten a hold of my diploma and put it up somewhere. She told me to check in the safe but it wasn’t there. I was pretty sure it wouldn’t be there. My dad came into the room and saw a box in the closet. He figured it might be in there since that is the only box we didn’t look in. He took it down and I saw that it had FRAGILE written across it. I told him that I was positive it wouldn’t be in a box marked fragile. We cut the tape and what did I find? My diploma. My dad looked in the box then looked at me and said “Why…Why in the world is that box marked fragile when the only things you have in there are your diploma and body products?”. I had no idea why. What I really didn’t know was why I had packed my high school diploma with lotion and other things of that sort.

While going through that box I also managed to find my Senior book. You know those ones they give you to write down everything that had gone on at school and the prices of things then. Reading that book seems like my senior year was forever ago when really I only graduated three years ago. Anyways, I can’t really remember the any of the prices I had written down. One price, though, really stands out. Gas prices. In 2005 gas was $2.19 a gallon. Wouldn’t it be nice if gas was still that price instead of $4+ a gallon?! Anyways, that’s how my weekend went. I’ll leave you with a couple of pictures of my high school diploma. Why? I was bored of course. :]

Yeah, it would be super if gas was still only $2.19/gal. I would be so happy.

It is awesome that you found your High School Diploma! I had to write the College in Idaho to get my transcripts for my G.E.D.

Did you know we share the same middle name?

I wish gas prices would go back to what they were when I first started driving, which was $1.09/gallon…those days are long gone!

BTW, you and Dez also share your middle name with me!

LOl at your high school diploma being marked as fragile. :P

We never got one from my high school, but we didn’t have a graduation either, just a dinner/ball to acknowledge that we’d left.

i’ve never heard of a senior book!

but, hey, gotta be careful with those diplomas and lotions! ;)
