I can’t believe that it is March already. It’s crazy how time is flying by so quickly. I’m still working on finding a new color scheme. I’m not having a problem finding schemes that I like but trying to put them together in a way that it looks good is a bit harder. I’m not too great with those types of things. It always comes out like a little kid is doing it. Actually, I’m sure they could probably do better than what I’m doing right now, haha. I’m also trying to figure out how to get my header image where the navigation is and the navigation where the header image is. It’s coming along, slowly but surely. There are a ton of things that I still want to do to this site. Changing the smilies for instance. I just found out how to change them from the default smilies to more pleasing smilies. Those yellow ones are so damn ugly, lol. So, I’m hoping to get started on that today. I just wanted to do a quick update on what I am doing.
Once I put the new layout up and re-opened my site, I went to make sure that everything was valid. It all should have been valid because the layout was coded by Whitney. I wanted to make sure anyways since I had changed a few things around. What I didn’t realize was that you could check each page on your blog. That was news to me. So, I went through and found only a couple pages weren’t valid. I quickly realized it wasn’t because I wasn’t paying attention and didn’t close certain tags. I closed them and checked again and they were valid. There is one page that I can’t get valid and it is my contact page. I’ve looked all over and I’m not really sure where I’m supposed to fix the problems. Does anyone know what I can do to fix the problem that way my whole site is valid. It’s bugging me that there is one page that isn’t valid and I can’t fix it, lol.
Well, I’ve finally taken my blog off of maintenance mode. It’s been that way for about a week. I have put up a new layout. It’s not the layout that I’ve been waiting on. I still haven’t heard back from her. But, this layout is from Whitney. She kindly let me use her code and helped me out with a lot of things. I really appreciate all she has done for me. I couldn’t come up with a better color scheme so I just left it and made a new header. I’m still not happy with the header but it will have to do for now. I was tired of seeing that stupid reminder at the top of Wordpress telling me not to forget to deactivate the maintenance mode plugin. I’ve been trying to get this subpages in my sidebar thing to work and finally got it right. After millions of tries. I will be looking for a new color scheme for the layout but if any of you have a great color scheme then let me know. I’ve added a ton of new stuff and I will be adding more along the way. I’m still not completely done but enough is done that I can open my site back up, lol. Anyways, I’m back. =]
In the last couple of posts I said that I would come back with a longer and better post. Well, here I am. Although it might be a little longer than the last couple of post, I can assure you that it won’t be any better. I also know that I have been saying, in God knows how many posts, that a new layout was coming soon. Well, I thought it was. Ciana is in the process of moving so it is taking longer than expected but she let me know the other day that she is trying to finish it up and hoped to have it to me soon. So, sometime a new layout will be coming. I’m just not sure when yet. So, you will just have to look at this theme for a little while longer as I don’t feel like looking for another for such a short time(hopefully short).
Anyways, not much has really been going on around here lately to actually talk about. I’ve been contemplating just posting a picture a day when I have nothing to write about so that you guys(who are still here) will have something to look at. I haven’t really decided yet. I hate that I don’t have anything worth writing about. So, what do you guys think about the picture a day thing? I’m still going to post but that will at least give you something to look when there isn’t anything to read, haha. I’m sure that I am already boring you guys with this post but I promised a longer one so that is what you are going to get even if it is just me rambling about nothing.
I mentioned in a few posts back that I was planning on starting school. Or hoping to anyways. We went to check out the school and get set up. It turns out that for some reason we have to use my parent’s tax information to figure out if and how much financial aid I can get. We thought we would be able to go on Bryan’s but not this year. So, it’s possible that I won’t be able to get financial aid since my parents most likely make to much. And we just don’t have the money to pay for school right now. At least not all of it. So, we were thinking about just waiting another year that way we can go off of our information. I haven’t decided yet but I still have a little less than two months to decide what I want to do. It’s just all so stressful and I’m thinking maybe that is why I have had so many headaches lately. Like the one I have now which has been here over a week.
Not much else is really going on and it has been really boring lately so I just ordered me some new books. I’ve read all of my other ones and needed something new to read. I got them in today. I can’t wait to start reading them. Of course it is more autobiography books. Those and biography books are really the only types I like to read and that interest me. I guess I’m just nosy and like to read about other peoples lives. I also started printing out recipes so I can start cooking more. If you have any good recipes then send them my way please.
