I really think that I should buy Wordpress for Dummies. I take that back. I really NEED to buy that book. I tried upgrading my Wordpress. It didn’t turn out too well. Thank goodness for Teresa. I really appreciate all of the help she has done for me. Maybe this is a sign that I don’t need an actual domain considering I am unable to do a lot of things. Maybe I really should stick with Vox and Livejournal. I am also having problems with plugins. I was having problems with plugins the last time I upgraded Wordpress. Some show up and some don’t. I’m not really sure what the deal is. Actually, I’ve tried to upload a couple plugins a few different times and they wouldn’t show up on Wordpress. I know they are compatible with this version because I already checked. Maybe it is just another sign that I don’t need to have my own place, lol. In other news, I bought The Sims Teen Style Stuff last night at Wal-Mart. I just remembered why I quit playing The Sims. I hate it. There really isn’t a point to it. It takes way too long to load. I should have spent my money on something better. Say a Wii game. Like I really need anymore of those either.

I quit playing The Sims because it sucked up all my time. LOL! I’m a simulation nut. That game is like my heaven.

And you’re not going anywhere. I will personally do anything that you need for Wordpress if you keep this website. I will also hunt you down and handcuff you to your keyboard! That’s a last resort, but it’s always an option!

I mean, I don’t want to go anywhere. I would like to get a new domain name though. I’m quite tired of this one. I just don’t have the patience or the knowledge(apparently) to fool with Wordpress. Nothing ever goes right for me with this thing. Ever. You are too sweet Elyse. You really are. Hm, while you are offering, then maybe you could make me a theme. No, haha. I’m just kidding with you.

Noooooo, stay with your domain and definitely with Wordpress. It’s a learning experience! I made the switch to Wordpress about two years ago, and at first I was hopelessly and pathetically lost. But I promise, you’ll catch on.
The Wordpress support forums are a great resource, as is Lavish. Many Lavish members, myself included, are very experienced with tinkering with Wordpress, and can help you with upgrades, plugin issues and making themes.

Jessica says: I’m pretty sure I will stay with my domain. Well, maybe not this domain name. I’m hoping to get a new one and by the time I do, I hope it’s still available. I’m still thinking about getting that book though. Even with all the help on the forums and Lavish.

Hell, I don’t even make myself themes anymore! LOL! But, I know a couple of places where there are some hot themes.

My friend Maja has two beautiful free themes on her website now, but she also does commission work. I highly recommend her work.

This is where my theme came from. I think they require a link to an advertiser or payment, but still totally hot.

Jessica says: Thanks for those links Elyse. I will check those out. I know, I love her themes. I’ve used them plenty of times and she has also made me some great themes as well. Unfortunately, I have seemed to misplace those damn themes, lol.

P.S. I’m usually pretty busy, but if you drop me an email like, “Hey, Jenn, I can’t figure out how to do X or install Y”, I can probably respond pretty quickly with an answer.

Also - get the plugin ‘Instant Upgrade’ - it is AWESOME. Takes the headache of upgrading completely away!
