Seriously Thinking

I’m seriously thinking about not re-newing my domain in July. I get tired of things really easily and I have already gotten tired of my domain name already. I don’t want to re-new that name but I’m thinking about buying a new domain name. I should probably do it sooner rather than later because it might not be available then. I don’t know what I’m going to do yet. I might just keep my LJ and Vox to blog on rather than have an actual domain. Vox and LJ seem to have a lot more options on layouts/themes than Wordpress. Since I don’t know how to make my own layouts the pre-made themes will have to do. Unless someone would like to make one for me, lol.

    I find that, more often than not, people let their domains expire in favour of going to Livejournal or an equivalent service and then 2-3 months down the line miss having a domain again. I would say having a domain and your own web space brings on millions more possibilities than having just a Livejournal!

    As for WordPress theming.. well, it’s not as complicated as it looks but then that’s easy for me to say, right? ;) There’s no reason why you can’t just use free themes though. I mean, the one you’re using now is really nice - one of my favourite premades.

    I guess what I’m trying to say is just make sure you’re 100% certain before you let the domain name expire because if someone else gets it after that, you won’t get it back!

    Jessica says: I think I would miss having a domain but I just don’t think I want this domain name anymore. I am really wanting a new one and I’ve already picked out a name and it’s free. I just need to buy it up before anyone else does. Who knows. I may end up keeping this one instead of getting a new one. I haven’t really decided yet but I should probably do so soon if I want to get this name.

    I agree, just do what makes you happy. I used to switch LJ names all the time. But I got really tired of the LJ thing and finally bought mine - I’m sure that I’ll be tired of the website name at some point… but it makes me happy now. And that’s what ultimately matters, imo.
